Get to Know Technology at North Island College

Important IT/Network Announcement to All Students (UPDATED):

Due to upgrades to NIC Network Bandwidth, please expect Network outages during the weekend of June 23, 2018. This will affect Internet connection at each of our locations, as well as internal Network access to myNIC, Blackboard, Registration, and Library Resources.

Due to the complexity of the upgrade, these services should begin to reappear within a few minutes to a few hours, but could last the entirety of the weekend.

The upgrade will bring a substantial and needed bandwidth increase to accommodate the advanced learning technologies that NIC provides to all regions of the North Island. While this impact to the Network will be inconvenient, we appreciate your patience in the matter, as it will greatly improve service and security for us all.

First steps to take at NIC:

1. Is this your first Semester at NIC? Make sure you log in to myNIC before classes start so you can get a head start and be ready for day one.

2. Get to know Blackboard Learn (if your classes use it), every student is automatically enrolled in a "Learn Student Training" course to help you learn what Blackboard can do.

3. Install your free copy of Office-365 2016, works on Mac and PC.

4. Come out to Orientation and learn about your NIC campus.

Does not matter which campus you are attending, we can meet in person or via Skype.

We'll need your name, email, and student number.
